The entire Universe is vibrating, forming patterns with its endless billions of Galaxies with billions of stars in each

Hi!Hello!Aloha!Hola!Namaste!

Welcome to another episode of my short thought sharing sessions. I am Neel. (Nilanjan Sarkar is my full name). I have been sharing these on my YouTube channel and my Blog as well as on Facebook and Instagram. If you are watching this you will be able to find the links and so please do subscribe and do send me your comments as I would like to hear from you and your thoughts. I can help, coach or teach  ( whatever word you prefer!) with wellness personalized for you with yoga, meditation, breath pranayamas, mindfulness, achieving balance and reducing stress, etc.

OK. So today's topic. Big one. About the Universe. OK.

The other day I saw a video of an experiment or a demo of how small particles on a metallic table were forming amazing geometric patterns when the table was vibrating with sound generated by the conductor of the experiment. The particles respond to the vibrations and form patterns.

Experiment video link:

https://youtu.be/wvJAgrUBF4w

What we see here is the particles are responding to the frequencies and wave patterns. This is probably an explanation of how the entire universe as we know it and beyond, is actually vibrating and responding to some frequencies unknown to us and thereby creating all these myriads of patterns that we see across the observed Universe. We see galaxies floating around, spinning, galaxies colliding, supernovas, black holes, and all such mostly unexplained motion and patterns.

The fascinating part is that there are Eastern philosophies which the sages mentioned many years ago after their deep meditation and realizations that it is the Cosmic Dance. The entire Cosmos is said to be vibrating and dancing to some frequencies.

Universe pic:

This is very mind-boggling. I think the human mind like any other living being on this planet has limitations on what it can comprehend. Certain things are beyond the power of comprehension for the human mind. This seems to be one of those concepts where I think the human mind will probably never be able to understand these frequencies vibrating across the dark matter and changing the patterns of the unending number of Galaxies.

Thanks for your time. Enjoy!

Best wishes.

Lots of love and best regards,
- Neel

The human mind cannot comprehend the absolute and eternal truth as it is beyond human - Hamsters and Galaxies

Youtube: https://youtu.be/R_fg2GwsqNo

Hi!Hello!Aloha!Hola!Namaste!

Welcome to another episode of my short thought sharing sessions. I am Neel. (Nilanjan Sarkar is my full name). OK. So today's topic. What the human mind cannot comprehend although it thinks it can and tries to do that.

This thought or concept is also a topic of discussion in many spiritual circles, religions, or now social media groups even. This is the topic of humans trying to achieve enlightenment or in a sense the full understanding of the eternal universal truth of existence.

I will just share my thoughts and as well tell you a story which is a true story and actually an event or incident really in my life with my kids when they were small and this made me realize this limitation of the human mind.

When my kids were around 6-7 years old, we bought a couple of hamsters/guinea pigs from the pet store and brought them home. They lived in a cage about a couple of feet wide and maybe a couple of feet high and maybe three feet long. Inside they had their food tray, a water bottle, and a playground with a hamster-wheel to run or spin. Then after keeping them for a few months as the kids were not playing with them anymore and they were difficult for us to maintain we decided to give them to another family friend of ours who had kids slightly younger than ours and they were really excited to get the hamsters. So one evening we picked up the cage with the food and water and everything and drove from the city of Fremont in California to San Jose another city about 30 miles away. At a friend of ours, we carried the cage in and put it somewhere near their living room and their children were really excited. Then here is the critical realization, I looked at the hamsters in the cage - for them, NOTHING HAD CHANGED. Can they even know the fact that they were in a different city or the name of the city or such? Although we went from Fremont to San Jose, we knew it and the kids knew it and my kids were sad and the friend's kids were happy but for the hamsters - they were still running around the cage, drinking water, nibbling the food as if everything was the same. And it was the same for them, they did not care if they were in a different city and a different home, as long as they got their food and water!

So what we realize is that human beings are no different! We are just a little bit more evolved but that does not mean we can possibly know things like the mystery behind the entire Universe and the Eternal Truth and such as those are things that are beyond our capacity.

 Thanks for your time. Enjoy!

Best wishes.

What are other people going to think?

https://youtu.be/Vujdj_ZTbek

Hello everyone! Hi! Hola! Aloha! Namaste!

So... What are other people going to think? I thought of this topic today since this is not what it looks like from the outside.

We have heard numerous times people saying things like - "Oh! I don't really care what other people think".  There are numerous quotes and you will find all these quotes and posters all over the internet and social media that tell you to not care what other people think. I see a lot of fashionistas or fashion models or these celebrities and actors and film stars and such who go about repeating this phrase that they do not care what other people think...numerous times ..all the time that I get sick of hearing this. But don't you think that at the same time these folks are the ones who care the most about WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK! That is their profession. Their livelihood. They have to impress people. They live on what other people think and their followers and their subscribers. But they keep on saying this mantra that 'i don't care what other people think'. The whole world of social media runs around this concept. Foremost is Instagram,  come on,  it runs on what other people think!

So ....now the question is what to do? what is right? is there an answer to this puzzle?

I am sorry - I do not have an easy answer for you. All I can say is, about certain somethings or processes I think that will reduce the confusion and in the process will make you happier. The way it makes you happier is I guess solely because you spend less time thinking about this topic of other people.

OK. So what do we do? I think the way it works is by keeping you somehow busy following a deep-rooted purpose from within that you have, a passion let us say deep within you which will drive you and when you are on that journey you will naturally be not thinking about other people.  So now the question that one may have is - how do I know what is the work or passion or purpose that I should be following? Now, this is where you need to search within. Searching within is meditation. One does not have to sit cross-legged on the floor for 1 hour or such to do this and there are other blogs and articles on this topic which you will find and I have also created some of them.

You just have to look within to find that out and you will definitely find a purpose if you really look. That is a guarantee.

You have to live your own life. No one else is living it for you. So you decide.

Thanks for your time. Enjoy!

Best wishes.

You get what you already have & You lose what you never had !

https://youtu.be/YqKmqI6Ivb8

Hi ! Hello! Hola! Aloha! Namaste!

Hope you all are doing well in this month of August 2020.

I am Neel and I have created some of these videos on topics that interest me in different aspects of life and some folks and friends have been asking me to continue posting these videos.

Today I am simply sharing some thoughts with regard to the often used term "searching for yourself" or something similar to that effect. This is a topic discussed in many or maybe every book or article or conversation about the subject of spirituality, or self realization or even meditation and such.

When I traveled to Rishikesh or even when I just traveled alone, some people were curious and they asked me - are you searching for yourself? I did not really know the answer, because I never thought of it that way , although I had heard the phrase before I never gave it much thought.

I happened to come across something related to this concept of search in the spiritual context and there was this idea that I think is the answer to the question. In other words it is the question as well as the answer in itself.

The message or the idea is :  You get what you already have & You lose what you never had !

Now what does this mean ? As I mentioned this is a question as well as the answer to this search question or searching dilemma.

What this means in concise simplistic terms is that the goal of this search of spiritual self i.e. finding oneself is realization that everything that you are seeking is actually in you . It is actually the real  Soul or Spirit or Atman or the Consciousness or part of the Universal Consciousness which is your core.   So it is already there and you already have it . It is not something to be found outside.

Now the second part of the sentence is that - you lose what you never had. Now that part is probably more confusing. What it means is that you would lose the false ego the false idea , the false identity of yourself or the about the world which is actually just an illusion so it is not real and you never had that thing or those things.  The illusion is also called Maya in  the Vedic scriptures.  So the idea is to lose the this Maya or come out of this Illusion.  That is the process of self realization.

O.K. This is a topic which can fill up libraries...I just wanted to share this and keep it short.

Thanks for your time. Enjoy!

Best wishes.

Mindfulness meditation - full of your mind ?

There is a lot of talk today about Mindfulness Meditation.

Many books have been written on this subject, many seminars and articles are available all over the world and many people talk about it or read about it and try to practice it at home by themselves. But what does it really mean ? It surely does not mean being full of your mind ( i.e. your ego or thoughts ).

Well, we know that it means the opposite , that is being without thoughts, and hence mindfulness is being without the mind or thinking mind.
The problem is - how do we do this ? How to stop thinking ? When we think of the thoughts and trying to stop the thought , that itself is a thought and , more dangerously, that thought in itself is more stressful !
The answer is AWARENESS.

How to practice this awareness ?  Today, I will just give you one method which I myself try to practice during meditation.  It actually comprises of two parts.  One part is a kind of visualization and other part is the reality of our breath or living our being alive.

Whenever a thought comes in my mind , I can think of it as an island or a cloud or even a bubble floating around. Lets say I am trying to meditate and a thought comes about some email that I was supposed to respond , or something that happened at work , or some social media post that I did not like or something like that I think of it as an isolated thing as a cloud or a bubble in the sky. I think that the sky is very very big , the universe is very very big and this is just a small thing floating around. This incident, or comment, or feeling is so insignificant compared to the vastness of the Universe !
I would immediately come back to the broader Awareness.
Then I focus on the breath.
The breath connects us to the reality of living. It connects us to the environment as without it we would be dead in 30 seconds or so.

I want to keep this article short and if you are beginning meditation or are having problems with your meditation or even just getting distracted , I hope you can try this.

Thanks for your time.  Best wishes .

"Have a nice day, unless you have other plans " - Happiness is a decision !

Video URL : https://youtu.be/piX5evvHZlA

Happiness is a decision !

If one makes that statement then most people would get surprised. They would not agree. But this is actually a truth which is expressed in different forms by most of the biggest religions of the world as well as the spiritual leaders. motivational speakers and thinkers. The words might not exactly be the same but in essence they mean the same thing.
All of the above people that I mentioned i.e.  from the motivational speakers who are professionals making money to the holy sages living in a mountain cave without money  are actually saying the same thing in different ways.

We can make a conscious choice to be happy. Yes!

The trick is a combination of the following ideas ( and many more...)
    - think less about ourselves as being the focus.
    - understand that life is a combination of good and bad times
    - there are rainy days in addition to sunny days
    - there is a shadow behind the light always coexisting
    - there is good and bad as that is the nature of this universe
    - every human being goes thru changes , no one is always happy
    - feel gratitude to the fact that you are still alive
    - feel gratitude for all the people, place, things around you
    - ... and many such more ...

Lots of love and best regards,
- Neel

Being vulnerable - a way to happiness !

Video URL:  https://youtu.be/vTbOqeaJjVw

Being vulnerable - a way to happiness !

Hi folks! Aloha! Namaste!

I want to talk about happiness today.

Who does not want to talk about it. Who does not want happiness?

This is perhaps the single thing that everyone in the world want to achieve, as a purpose although they might not define it that way. But everyone wants to be happy. It is said that John Lennon the musician philosopher from Beatles, when he was a little boy in school was asked by the teacher to write what he wanted to become when he grew up. Everyone wrote about being a engineer or doctor or such profession but Lennon wrote ' to be happy'.
 .

What I am saying here today will be quite a surprise to most people as this is not per conventional wisdom.  OK. It is is that  "vulnerability" and being vulnerable ie opening yourself up to the things that makes you feel  exposed and  also exposing yourself to things that make you angry ,  or sad, or conscious ,  or bring you some shame are actually in the long term and in the broader perspective of things make you happier.

This was a subject of research and there is a wonderful TED talk by a researcher and speaker named Brene Brown available on this topic. I would recommend you watch it.

Refer. Link.   :https://www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_the_power_of_vulnerability?utm_campaign=tedspread&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=tedcomshare

What it actually means is that by taking risks and actively 'not playing it safe' rather than just playing safe is what eventually leads to happiness.

It is possibly hard and uncomfortable to open yourself up and to feel exposed but it is also a source of  power.

Being authentic  is closely related to vulnerability and being who you are will also lead you to  happiness.

Lots of love and best regards,

Neel

sharing thoughts - Hawaiian Sunset and racial tension in mainland USA  - 01-Jun-2020-

Just sharing a beautiful sunset while walking for my evening walk at the Ala Moana Beack Park in Honolulu, hawaii

Stressful times now with the Corona Covid Lockdown and now the Ongoing protests and racial tension and anarchy.

With all the negativity -

Let us all hope  that the change is for good , change is the only constant,  hope that things will change for better.
Hope we have a loving, harmonious , caring and more equal society.

We can spread love and joy and respect and that is the best we can do for the benefit of the society  and benefit for all....

Sharing some thoughts - after a jog - on a sad day of social injustice tension around.

Just came to my mind to share this beautiful sunset  while jogging at the Ala Moana Beach Park in Honolulu, Hawaii  in the evening of May 27th 2020.

There is a lot of racial tension around the country due to the video that went viral of a handcuffed , non-resisting, black man lying on his stomach on the road overpowered by four cops sitting on top of him being choked to death with a knee on his throat  in broad daylight in the middle of the road in front of a girl recording this in a phone camera and pleading not to kill the man who kept pleading and saying "I can't breathe".  !

I am writing other blogs on this topic as it is very disturbing.  But this is just for me to share the positivity of a beautiful sunset.

The power of saying - "I Don't know"

The power of saying - "I Don't know"

May 23, 2020
Honolulu, Hawaii

Hi ! Hello ! Aloha ! Namaste !
Today I want to talk about the power of saying "No".
I had written a blog on this more than a year ago. Today I created a video and just re-iterating the same thing.
When I look at social media today, I see that there is so much stress on knowing everything!
There are social media wars out there.  Everyone seems to be under pressure to know everything about everything that is going on !
Only when we say that "I don't know". is when we can actually start learning.
It is the beginning of the quest for knowledge . It is the start of seeking and hence start of your practice of meditation too.
And it relives the tremendous pressure that we put ourselves under. So it is stress reliever too . So go for it and feel free to say it out these !

Namaste !

Meditation - yoga is connection - of inner vs outer worlds

Meditation - yoga is connection - of inner vs outer worlds.

May-2020

https://youtu.be/B_GTnGN3CuM

Hi! Aloha! Namaste!

I hope you are doing well!

Do you know the meaning of the word Yoga? I guess off late this has become a popular question or topic.

OK. Yoga means union or a connection or even addition. This connection can be visualized in different dimensions. The connection is between the physical and spiritual in one dimension, between the mind and body in another dimension, between humans and God according to another, but it is also the connection between the inner and outer worlds. The last aspect is actually the realm of meditation. Meditation connects our inner and outer worlds.

When we meditate we close our eyes, we focus on our breathing, we gradually go deeper and deeper inwards. There are so many techniques of meditation and there are many more and more coming up as there are people who are coming up with those and promoting and advertising and popularizing these techniques but the core is still the same, it is about going deeper within. From the outer world we gradually go within to the inner world.

The objective is to go deeper within when we meditate.
This does not mean we have to forcibly focus or concentrate on it using our minds, rather it should go naturally.  The thoughts will come and go but we also need to let go! we need to let go of the thoughts and not get attached to the thoughts.  Now this is also a way where we are bridging the inner and outer worlds as most of the thoughts will tend to take you away into the outer world and then it becomes a form of daydreaming rather than meditation.

One thing common that you will find amongst all the meditation techniques is the focus on your breath. There are many reasons for this. One reason is that it gives our mind something to focus on which has a regular pattern and goes non stop. Another reason is that it is what connects us to the rest of the universe. Like a fish lives in water, we live in the ocean of air. If we go to space without our supply of oxygen we will die, no different from a fish out of the water!  So this is also something that connects our inner and outer worlds.

OK. That is enough for today.

I will end with the first two lines of a song from one of the greatest philosopher, poet, writer, spiritual thinkers of the world, Rabindranath Tagore ( who incidentally was the first non-European to receive the Nobel prize in literature).
The words do not translate very well from Bengali as with any language, time, region.

"Chokher aloye dekhechilem chokher baahire, ontore aaj dekhbo jokhon aalok naahi re" loosely translated to English as "With the light ( or power) of my eyes I could see what is outside of the eyes ( meaning the external world).  Today with no light around me I will instead try to see instead what is inside "
